NEWSLETTERS

Echota

As a highly successful second home development, Echota needed a quarterly newsletter for current owners as well as prospective buyers that would create a sense of community among residents and gently entice potential owners to consider the development for weekend getaways. For the past four years, Huso has written, designed, and developed a newspaper-style, full-color newsletter that combines stunning photography to feature Echota's mountain views with soft sell copy that is informational to owners while also providing a sneak peek to prospects.
Homestead Preserve

When developers Celebration Associates launched the new conservation community of Homestead Preserve in 2005, they wanted an a full-color newsletter to send to new homeowners as well as prospects that would showcase the neighborhood’s many amenities, home and land offerings, and the beauty and attractions of the surrounding community of Bath County, Virginia. For five years, Huso wrote, designed, and developed the resort community’s quarterly newsletter.

Given Huso's experience in health and energy reporting as well as blogging, GE called on her skills to provide reporting on behalf of company executives as well as to write blog posts for GE's corporate sites, including GEreports.com, which offers consumers and investors an overview of company initiatives around the globe. She also crafts posts on behalf of company leadership for major media web sites like Forbes.com.
Virginia Hot Springs Realty
Website Development
Virginia Hot Springs Realty needed a web site for its new firm that reflected its specialty of high end country real estate and also allowed prospective buyers to search properties easily. Huso brought together a team of copywriters, designers, and programmers to create a site fresh with movement, attention to the region's scenic beauty, and several search functions that allow users to find properties based on amenities, locations, and price ranges. The site also has a content management system that allows the client to update its property listings as often as needed. View website
Bath County Chamber of Commerce
Website Development
The Bath County Chamber of Commerce had never had a web presence despite the organization's position as the area's primary tourism information bureau. Huso needed to capture the region's major draws—its secluded mountain beauty, access to luxury resort amenities, and outdoor recreation—while still making it user-friendly. The result is a site that uses soothing imagery in combination with descriptive storytelling to draw visitors in and inspire them to visit. View website
Travel Blog
When Huso received her contract to write the 1st edition of Moon Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains, she knew she needed to take advantage of the new realm of social media to help promote her book, so she developed “The Rest of the Travel Story” blog to share adventures in the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains with her readers that aren’t necessarily covered in the new book. She also covers a wide array of domestic and international travel on the blog, keeping readers up-to-date on where to read her latest travel articles and where she’s venturing to next. View blog
